Meet Bindi May 1st 2016 (estimate) Female Australian Shepherd, Standard Approx. 61 lbs. Adoption Fee: $400 Location: Lake Saint Louis, MO (St. Charles County) Bindi is a gorgeous Australian Shepherd with soulful eyes and sweet temperament. She is approximately 4 years old and came to HHR from Texas, as part of a breeder release in early May. She was spayed on May 26 and will complete all vetting on June 9. Bindi has been with her foster family for over 3 weeks and makes progress every day. She does well walking on a leash and sleeps in her kennel at night. She loves her foster brother, a labrador retriever puppy, and is learning how to be a dog by watching and playing with him. For this reason, Bindi needs a forever family that already has a dog at home, preferably with a fenced yard so she can have safe outdoor space to explore off-leash. Bindi enjoys being outside and is curious about nature. Bindi had a large umbilical hernia repaired during her spay; prior to that, she was quite the couch potato and she’s a bit on the heavy side. With each day, she is becoming more active and is probably going to be the type of dog that learns she loves going for walks, hiking, or even jogs with her humans. Bindi does well with older children and adults but is not as comfortable with very young children or toddlers. She has separation anxiety when her foster parents leave but as with everything, she is trying and improving. She makes progress each day, although it is slow at times. Bindi’s forever family should have lots of patience, time, and love to give… she will blossom in return.
