Clancy

Clancy is a 2yr old Goldendoodle who weighs approx 70lbs. Clancy came into rescue due to resource guarding behavior, his family had previously worked with a trainer whose advise actually turned his behavior into a game in which he got rewarded. Clancy is reacting well to training to redirect this behavior and enforce boundaries as well as basic obedience training. Clancy can now be told “drop it” and will release the item that he was guarding. He is also learning “sit” “stay” and “down.” Clancy very much wants to be the boss in any situation and feel like he is in control, I feel that this is due to a lack of self confidence which can easily be corrected through balanced training and treat puzzles etc. Clancy should be adopted into a family who will continue to invest in training, he would ok as an only dog, or in a home where the other dogs have mild temperaments, he does not like playful young dogs. Clancy should not go to a home with young children, teenagers would be fine. Clancy is suited to a home with or without a fence, and previously lived in an apartment. It is vital that Clancy’s future family be able to enforce boundaries with a firm authority.
