Hi! My name is Maria. I LOVE friendly people and my favorite thing is to give hugs, sit in laps, and get lots of good scritches. I never got those before I came to HHR because I lived in a cage my whole life. I like having more freedom now, but sometimes the world feels a bit scary to me still. I stay in my crate a lot because loud noises scare me, and it takes me a long time to get brave enough before I come out again. I feel the most brave when I wake up in the morning and when foster mom comes home. Those scritches are worth braving the scary things for! Foster mom closes my crate sometimes (rude!) because she says it helps me be brave, so then I stay out to snuggle and explore. When I feel safe I LOVE to play and be ornery to make people laugh. It’s the funnest! I really like sniffing around the backyard as well. I hear I am going to have a new mommy or daddy or maybe both! I hope I get someone who lives in a quiet place where I can keep learning to be a brave girl. And I hope they will be REALLY patient with me while I learn. I am trying very very hard!
