Cats: Gets along fine, might chase at first
Other dogs: Gets along fine, but doesn’t want to play - would do best with another calm dog.
Children: A bit scared of children, doesn’t like loud noises
Potty Training Progress: A few accidents during her heartworm treatments due to medication that makes her go more often, but with a bit more training she will be fine. Adopters should always expect some regression when learning a new environment.
Other behavioral info: Can be food/treats aggressive, needs to be fed separately. Must have a fenced in yard.
River is one of the most gentle souls I have met. She wants to be petted and loved on 24/7. She loves being outdoors and enjoys tanning in the sun. She does tire easily so she loves her nap time. She is very calm, sweet and lovable. She would do best in a quiet home and she would be fine as an only dog or with another calm/quiet dog. She loves walks and is really good on a leash, but she does love squirrels! She is extremely smart and with a little bit of work she will have those easy commands down perfectly. She is crate trained. She is such a happy girl though and just loves life. She would make a wonderful companion!
She was a breeder release and tested positive for heart worms last year. She has gone through all of her treatments successfully. She will need to be retested in 5-6 months. Most of her time with her foster was spent having to stay calm and quiet. Now she is ready for more walks/exercise and training. She is so sweet and perfect and we are excited that she beat those nasty heart worms!
Medical/Vetting: Will need a follow up appointment in 6 months. Up to date on all shots, currently taking nexgaurd and heartguard once a month.
